Spring 1997

The first steps

The first version of the telephony server supports speech recognition, but no DTMF!

Summer 1997

First installation of a voice computer at a customer with analogue telephone technology.

1998

Release of the first ISDN version of the telephony server based on CAPI 2.0, which also supports DTMF recognition.

1999

1999 Entry into the voice service provider market with IVR applications for TV and radio programmes.

First ACD solutions for the entertainment sector

2000

Increasing our capacity

Development of a ‘mass calling platform’ for 2000 parallel calls and 250 call attempts per second.

2001

Introduction of voice bots

Introduction of the first voice bot solution with text-to-speech and speech recognition using machine learning algorithms. Training a new application takes 8 to 10 hours.

2003

Support of the SS7 network protocol, first use in the core network of a network operator.

2006

Platform introduced for the transmission of local numbers (LNP) and mobile numbers (MNP) carriers using the IN protocol.

2007

jtel turns 10 years old!

2008

Carrier network solution offers configurable routing via web-based GUI.

2014

jtel enters the enterprise contact centre market, the product is branded and seen with the jtel logo for the first time.

2016

Dialler module is introduced.

2017

jtel turns 20 years old!

2018

Modules for chat and e-mail processing introduced.

Spring 2020

MS Teams Connector is introduced during the first corona lockdown.

Summer 2020

The jtel Cloud is launched and the first customer goes live.

2021

jtel chatbot based on Tensorflow AI is introduced.

January 2022

jtel turns 25 years old!

Autumn 2022

Introduction of the first voice bot solution based on modern AI technology. Training for a new application has fallen from 8 to 10 hours in 2001 to just a few minutes in 2022.

Summer 2023

First LLM integrated into the jtel system.

Autumn 2023

Voice bots can now be created with the jtel workflow GUI

2024

Live agent with voice transcription and AI sidekick, which supports agents in answering customer enquiries, will be presented at CCW 2024.
