Each year, Christmas can be a happy time for a lot of families in Germany, but sadly for some it is the toughest time to survive. With children to buy presents for and families to feed, it can be too expensive for some families to meet all expectations.

That’s why each year, we donate to Tafel. Tafel is a German volunteer-based charity that helps struggling families to put food on the table all year round. They collect qualitatively good food that would otherwise land in the garbage and distribute it for free or a symbolic amount to socially and economically disadvantaged people.

Tafel reduces food waste and helps up to 2 million people in the country per year, a third of which are children, working with grocers and suppliers to reduce food waste as much as they can. But it can’t be done without your help.

Tafel relies on your generous donations to provide. They receive no public financing, and must cover their costs of transportation, storage and administrative costs themselves.

Without donations, there can be no Tafel. Help them to help others.
